I read Dark Hills Divide last school year. I really liked this book that was the first in The Land of Elyon series. I just found out that the author, Patrick Carman, is from Seattle. He couldn’t find anyone to publish his book so he published it himself. Then people in the Seattle bookstores told publishers that the book was really good and they convinced a big publisher, Orchard, to publish it.
If kids in your class read and like the book, I wonder if the author would come and talk to you?
